Brains and Eyeballs

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
We kicked off the day with a party a our house! It was a morning filled with brains and eyeballs, decorating pumpkins, games, costumes and a candy buffet. Kristie, Cindy and I managed to pull off quite the shin-dig for the little ones.

Pumpkins

This year for the first time, Troy and I got to sit back and watch as the girls found their own pumpkins, hauled them out of the patch and pulled their wagon back to the gate...by themselves! Grace was so cute when she finally found the one she wanted. There was no stopping her! Happy carving, roasting and baking...

Riding Solo

Bailey has officially learned to ride her bike without training wheels. After a week of running up and down the street, Bailey is on the open road. Meanwhile, Grace is learning to master the tricycle and busy being quite the spectator.

Princess for a day.

Last Friday was Corcoran High School's Homecoming celebration. Bailey and her friend, Aiden had the honor of being the Princess and Prince for the evening at the football game. They rode with last year's Queen and she had a blast waving at her "cheering section" the entire car ride. All of our friends came out to see her and she was quite the Princess!
A special shout out to Evelyn for doing her hair and to Cindi for all the great alterations! Thanks gals...

Home

This past weekend we went to Ojai to meet my niece, Kenzie Ryan. She was born on the 13th of October to Ryan and Monica and joins big sisters Tessa and Preslee. We are so proud of Monica as Ryan is in Chicago at Navy Boot Camp. However, the good news is that Ryan got to make a phone call that day and talk to Monica. That was a blessing!M
My mom and I took all of the girls to Ojai Day and on Sunday we celebrated Tessa's 6th birthday with a princess party. My sister, Sam, even joined in the festivities dressing up as little BO peep. It was a great weekend being back HOME.

Off to the races...

Last weekend took us to the horse races at the Fresno Fair for Evelyn's birthday. Never been to the races; it was great fun. Betting, drinking, eating deep fried anything and buying bubble guns was a special treat, even for this mom of two. No kids to ask for anything and everything.
In other news, my post have been few and far between as I've been experiencing camera problems. I've since pulled out the antique Kodak so hopefully we'll be up and running more often.

CHI Town...

Here we are arriving in Chicago! It was a glorious night on the river. Our means of transportation upon arrival (thanks Santa Terrella).
Although deep dish was goood, nothing beats Troy's Pizza! This was Geno's East and it was just down the street. Evelyn, Kristie and I enjoyed a beer or two while waiting for our "pies" and pretending we were not tourist.I can't believe they were expecting us. This was the neatest stadium. It was so small that it felt like you were at a college game or something very intimate. It helped that we had awesome seats so close to the field. And they still have the old school score board where someone sits to put up the score. We took a cool architecture river tour. I was able to catch up on a few ZZZ's. That's the beautiful Chicago skyline behind us.The Sears Tour now named the The Willis Tower. How do you rename something so historic? It was very weird being 110 floors up and stepping out onto the glass ledges. Yummy! Lunch at Rick Bayless' Grill, The Frontera.
Navy Pier
Our last night we went on a progressive dinner tour. It took us to a restaurant that served Appetizers, off to another restaurant for dinner and to Michael Jordan's restaurant for dessert.
Of course, another good time had in "the windy city".
